Anyone else think that reality shows are taking over? There are so many now, its unbelievable. I don't even remember the last time I saw an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" or any other sitcom for that matter. Shows like "Cheaters" really catch my attention nowadays, plus it's probably cheaper to run a reality show anyways because you don't have to pay actors too. Does this mean the end of the sitcom?

It will run its course like everything else. For the most part, they are so stretching the term "reality" it is already comical.

Well, its intriguing to see what people's lives are all about...its just that, the REALITY of it, knowing in the back of your mind that "damn, this is real....this is really happening" rather than "people dont do that in real life". Its more dramatic, interesting....and just like everybody likes to be nosey rosey...these reality tv shows let you be all up in the mix. Except, you really grow to hate these people...like if i saw any of the laguna beach chick crew out in the real world, knowing what they percieve to be on tv, id kik their arse.

There are good shows on. I just use my ReplayTV to record stuff at all hours of the day/night. There are only a few "network" shows that I record and I don't watch one second of any "reality" show. That stuff rots your brain.

I watch Raymond everyday at lunch...lol. I'm also a die hard Law & Order fan...all of them. The CSI cast can fall into a pit of rabid pittbulls infected with AIDS for all I care, especially Miami.

House rocks...

Reality sucks enough without having to watch it on TV.

"Reality tv" has run it's course already IMO, and is on the decline. VH1 made

several reality shows from reality shows( ie: I Love New York, Flavor of Love,

The model and Brady thing, so on and so forth...) IMO tv in general is going

down the toilet. There are no good creative cartoons anymore, South Park

aside, and your CSI and LAO's are taking over.

My Name is Earl and The Office (us version) are the reasons sitcoms will never die. Classics.

"Reality" TV is dying. It'll phase out just like every other fad.

Wow, half of the shows you guys are talking about, I haven't even heard of. I quit watching tv shows at the same time Friends was over. After that it was all SPEED channel and TNN? I think that was it's name before turning into Spyke. Also the History channels, TLC and discovery.

I actually turned on my TV tonight for the first time in weeks so we could watch a movie we rented.

So to answer your question about sitcoms and reality TV shows. TV has been dead to me for years. All I have left are sports, history channel style shows and movies. I'm not going to waste my life watching someone elses on TV.
