I picked up a Q a little over a year ago and rehabbed it with a ton of maintenance, fixes, etc. I finally had it to the point where it needed some paint and it would be everything I wanted.

Here's a pic of the first day I picked it up, sorry it's a bit in the background of our camry:

Here it was a couple weeks ago:

Here's what I opened my door to on May 16 after hearing a wreck:

Someone clipped the van in the photo and it turned hard, spun and totaled all three vehicles you see in the pic. The s14 is my buddy's that was here to get an rb26 installed, the Q and Jeep J20 are mine.

Since people love pictures, here's more pics of the damage:

So I find a fantastic Q owner selling his car in Detroit (5 hours from where I live) and after discussing the car on the phone with him, I picked this car up last night around 1am.

It's a 95 q45t with 156k miles. It came with all sorts of maintenance records, and he informed me it was in Arizona until 2006. Only rust is a spot on the hood where it was repaired long ago.

Today I replaced knock sensors, swapped in a tuned ecu, added an intake because I'm a bit of a ricer, replaced a broken sidemarker and broken turn signal.

I'm excited for a new beginning. After the insurance checks out the silver car I'll swap over some things like an active Q sway bar, early steering rack, urethane sway bar bushings, aftermarket control arms, z32 brakes, G35 wheels and coilovers. I also have a full black low mileage (cash for clunkers car) interior I was going to swap into the silver car this weekend, but looks like it'll be going into a white car now!

Thanks for checking out my story.

Damn, sorry to hear that.

I'm sure you and your buddy were pissed off, but at least you found a car that looks equally nice. Those pearl white cars look incredible if they are taken care of; i've got a black one and am starting to wish I had a pearl white one.

Those spring I got from you have been great, they saved me a lot of time in installation that for sure. Not as stiff as I thought but they are nice. If you ever make it out to the west coast SF bay area I owe you lunch or a drink.

Nice recovery. But lose the intake unless you want to cancel the power you added with the ECU.

I had it dyno tuned locally with this intake, so that makes it hard to justify removing.

Thanks for the comments guys.

So was the hood up or down when it was tuned?
