For those of you who don't know who Pat Tillman is, he is an Arizona native who played for the Cardinals. He walked away from his career to join the military, to serve his country. He was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004.

Just shows what America is all about. The land of opportunity to make money any way possible, at the risk of anybody's expense.

Pethetic

Doesn't bother me that much since he was indeed a football star. If I were selling it, I'd give the money to charity.

$3.2 million for a smelly pair of shoes? Dang, do they at least have laces? I think the seller has been sniffing those shoes too much if he thinks he's gonna make that kinda money without giving the proceeds to a worthy charity.

Having watched the HBO documentary about the Tillman incident and subsequent manipulation, it felt wrong at first read. But thinking more, it's really no different than someone selling any other revered deceased celeb's trinkets. I agree it seems more appropriate for the proceeds to go to a military charity, but there's no requirement.

As with all things overpriced like that, the seller can't be too serious about selling the items if they won't negotiate a price down to what the real value is. We've all seen the chumps asking 20 G's for the beat up S13 used by some semi-important racing driver... My initial thought is that it's all part of a scam involving insurance somehow.

I mean 3.2 million is alittle pricey I think we can all agree on that. I mean he's no dead Manning or T. Brady with all due respect. I could see a few thousand though. And no, I thought I read it was all pure profit and no charity.

his asking price is outrageous, but if he wants to sell his property, so be it.

That's my take. I have no interest in paying that amount of money for... much anything, let alone some used shoes made special by superstition.
