Nobody is forcing you to read them.

As Wes once said:

Pardon me if I may sound rude and I don't have any car starting issues but I came to this forum for help and the intention to help others with benefits. Thats what the forum is for. There is another forum at nicoclub.com which may be more suited for you. <<EDIT: Just search other forums on google, I guess we don't take kindly to other nissan/infinit forums here

Its not like one "car won't start" issue is the same issue that everyone else is having... Mixing those topics is a hazard. If anything the best option would be a "Car won't Start" subforum. With so many mechanical things running in the car there are so many different things that can cause problems. The best way to figure it out and save money is find someone thats already been through it. Where else can you find those people?

I believe the post was mostly referring to posting in the Infiniti Online Mechanic section.

The best thing you can do is start here though: zerothread/298721There is so much information here at NICO that you could spend days reading all of the info. That link will help you find exactly what you need.

First things first! Approach car with key/clicker in hand, enter car in the usual manner after seat adjustment with seat adjuster button on door (if applicable). And be seated.Do the usual preening, using little mirror above, "man I'm lookin' gud" stuff etc. Fast forward.

Insert key in the ignition key hole and TURN to right? NOTHING!!! WTF ! ! ! Exit car, open hood, scratch head, squint at engine, scratch ballz, squint harder, mental cussing, looking around if being observed, cuss verbally, WTF is wrong with the MF?

Well this could take awhile and someone else might want to chime in.

I been there.

I think you're out of gas. Pour in a gallon and see what happens.

or

Clean the MAF, clean all the engine electrical connectors, check the battery posts, jumper the fuel pump, clean the TB, ohm the injectors and KS, pull the ECU codes, and let us know what you find.

Your post makes a good point though.

Just from the mind of a newb.....

I guess I never realized that ANY technical post belongs in the Infiniti Tech section. I'm one of the people you must hate for putting all sorts of TECH related topics in this forum. Sorry...I just thought it was for all Q45 topics and not just anything without tech in it.

Lesson learned. I'll start posting there.

And of course, as always, the gasoline goes in the brake fluid reservoir when you're in troubleshooting mode. That way you can bypass the hydrostatic rod to make sure it really is a fuel problem.

Still. Rather then searching, he'd rather make a jillion threads.

It'd be much less irritating to some if he just consolidated all of his questions into one thread. I did ask if he ever considered it.

Everyone's being "helpful" in their own way. Think of it as tough love, or initiation into the Fraternal Order of Q45.

When I first got on the board, I was a wet behind the ears rookie. Quite the belligerent upstart. Over time I've learned that these guys have answered almost every possible question about Q45's at least 3 times. Each. All of the questions and responses are chronicled in the archives for new owners to read at their leisure.

I like to think of it like pushing on a door labled "PULL". You get stuck because you failed to read, and then when someone points out your mistake, you feel silly and embarassed.

I agree. It's a lot easier to dish out teasing than to take it in stride. Just because someone corrects you or even pokes fun at you, does not necessarily mean they don't like you or are angry.

Well, I think we are without a IOM moderator at the moment, which results in all this confusion.

The Tech forum was intended for more theoretical engineering discussions, but....

Quite the most random statistic that I've seen on the board.

It actually goes with what my original post was about.

Threads are all over because people can't read!

Is it really the inability to read? Or just an abundant amount of obstinacy and laziness?

I can't lie, I used to be one of those. I never searched because of a cultivated prejudice of forum search engines. Some of those other forums have the most retarded search features ever! I was quite surprised at the ease and simplicity of the NICO search engine. I can generally find what I need quite quickly. Sometimes, I have to exhaust all of the available methods of getting information. (Q45 forum, current, archived, post body, thread title. The same for IOM)

Another thing that can help is to Google what you're looking for. 9 times out of 10, any Q45 questions point to the NICO board and the most relevant thread.

Well done, grasshopper!

And you should go add that business about Googling to my Search sticky at the top of the list. Good idea.
