i was in my garage last night and just finished recharging as ive done many times before, i droped the battery in with out looking and quickly attempted to attach the ... spark... spark.. dear god i reversed the polarities. corrected it , started the car the engine ran fine and started but i have no electronics inside the car only DRL if i switch the headlights on....... what is the extent of the damage? :helpi quickly checked the fuses and i see none blown in under the drivers side and the fuse box near the battery. is there one under the intake that might be gone or did i completely **** everything......

Thanks,Kyle

its the fuse in the box behind where the battery should be. the top of the fuse is square, long, and clear so you can see its the broken one. thats how it was on my 95

Teh top of the fusible links are clear, but you may not be able to see a break in it. Remove each fusible link, one at a time and while looking through the clear plastic window, tap the side of the link. If the parts inside move or vibrate, the link is bad.

only one of them is clear (alt), the other ones are solid plastic covering, how would i be able to test those? i can take a picture of my fuse box and show you later if you need it to help me.

another option is to test the resistance of each fusible link with an ohmmeter.

Chris ask some of the old time nissan techs in the shop, if there are any there, about valve adjustments during PDI on the 280z. I have heard some stories from a guy I work with.

Ugh, I had to re-adjust valves on a P90 head from a 280Z ... never again.

heh, i had enough of pushrods when i was with gm. i will ask about the pdi valve adjustments though. thanks to nissans loud as all get out galley feed injectors i dont have to bother adjusting valves much anymore. my e16 goes out of whack between every oil change, but i just leave 'em loose now.

side note: how many years do you two(nistech and nismo_freak) have working on nissans? i myself have not been around that long(only 3 years nissan experience).

I have been working for nissan dealerships since 1995 solid. the first couple years I was with a multi line dealer and what a combo it was! Nissan ,Jeep, Isuzu(ewwsuzu) worked on all three lines. Before that worked for independant repair shops.
