Had a bit of frustration with the dealer this past week when my G37 when in for normally scheduled maintenance. They informed us that the inside of the front tires had worn down and needed to be replaced at $302/ tire. The frustrating part is that the car has been in several times over the last 4 months for the TPMS not working correctly (They replaced two of the sensors after the 5th visit) and no one ever noticed the tread was wearing down to the point of balding???? I have had the car since February and it had 14k miles on it and now has 23k miles. The only course of action that I can think of is to call Infiniti (not the dealer) and talk to them about this. I have all of the paperwork for past visits and really think this was a ploy on their part to get more money out of my pocket by not saying anything. Does anyone else have any recommendations on what to do or am I pretty much screwed and have to replace the tires? TIA for all inputs.

You may need an alignment or perhaps you had incorrect tire pressure?
I rotate my tires myself every 5 to 6k miles and bought one of these

They are inexpensive and will show up any unusual tire wear

I think you have the right idea. You need to convey that you've been to the dealer multiple times for an issue related to the tires and the problem was overlooked. Did you ever ask specifically about tire wear?

they always indicate tire wear on a 1-10 scale with your service summary... at least thats what they do at my dealer... so if they have been reporting that on the service summary... then it'll be on you for not paying attention. Although i do agree that should give a verbal warning about any problems, especially saftey related like tires/brakes.

Since you are forced to get new tires, just look into the after market (tirerack.com or your local tireshop), the tires at the dealer are marked up as you probably know... :yesnod

i reccomend http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/versado-lx ill be getting these begining of next year, itll be my second set :dblthumb:

Thanks for all of the replies on this. I will be taking a look at my paperwork today to find out if they have been putting information about the tread wear on there and I will be taking it in this week for an alignment to see how far off the camber is.

Ultimately, you don't need to buy tires from them. Keep that in mind. There's nothing more special about the tires they sell than the tires at any reputable tire shop. I also agree with getting the alignment looked at. The stock camber setting on these cars provides for odd wear if not monitored. If you keep up on the tire rotations you would be fine though.
