With my new g35 coupe coming in soon, my dad talked to them about payments for leasing the car. The intrest rate on it was over 18%!!! He recently refinaced our house for only 4.6%. He also works for a bank so there is no use in trying to fool him. Dealerships do this to many people who do not know any better and they make alot more money off of the car then they should, so any of yall who are getting new cars look out!

Unfortunately this is an all too common practice at dealers. It is a very good idea to research current interest rates before shoppng for a car. Being educated not only on the make and model car you want but also how financing works will definitely benefit anyone.

The problem is that if you don't buy it, somebody else will!! Hard to negotiate too much when it's a hot car that's not readily available.
