Has anybody tried taking their car with an engine swap to a dealership and if yes why and what happened?

I've been really contimplating whether or not I should to get my automatic seatbelts fixed. I don't know if I should even do it or what kind of troubles might come up...

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section... I wasn't sure because I would've most likely gotten pretty stupid replies .

Dude take the auto seat belt crap out. Replace with either the oem non auto ones or do what I did and get a set of takata's problem solved(or even the ebay ones they work too). O and btw most dealerships kinda laugh when you roll up, either that or someone who works there shows some 240 love. Honestly i've never been to a dealership in my entire life, never really needed to go. But if you like burning money by all means they'll be more then happy to empty your pockets lol :chuckle:

Well cause I can get my seatbelts fixed for free cause of the warrenty but I don't know. I don't want Takata's cause this is my daily. I would like to install non auto ones but I'm handicapped when it comes to my car...

Know of a good write up that can show me how to get non auto ones installed?

It's pretty simple just take off the upper plastic pillar covers take off all the old auto brackets and junk look for the screw in point behind your shoulder and attach the non auto belt. Ill see if I can't take some pics and show you what I mean. (i had my autos fail like 4 weeks ago so I was in the same predic. but I decided to go w/takatas regardless because it's safe fast and super easy install if you do it the way I set mine up. And a 4 point harness isn't all that bad either. Yeah it may take an extra minute, but man when you have to jam on the break you surrrrre the $%^^$ ain't goin nowhere!!!!)

I would like some takatas but California doesn't take too kindly with an 19 year old Asian kid driving in a car with Ricaro's and Takata's... Especially with a CA under the hood as my daily.

Only problem I'm having as of now is finding OEM 180sx manual seatbelts or seatbelts that fit. I hear S14 seatbelts work but they aren't as nice as having 180sx belts.

Canada had OEM manual belts, and S14 belts work nearly as well. Canada will also be where you can get S13 trim pieces that fit. You'll need new B pillar upper trim at least (I forget if the lower...), A pillar trim, and headliner.

almost all nissan seatbelts bolt right in. sentras, altimas, 240sx, pulsar... all the same belts.
and they dont reallllyyy even havee to be from a nissan.

but here and article on the seatbelt stuff. they might give you a hard time because its a modified car. but aslong as the seatbelts wernt messed with, they should honor the warrenty

the "lower B pillar" trim is the rear quarter trims that are next to where the back seat is... the canadian (and all non-US ones) are different in that it doesn't have the little access hole and cover for the emergency manual release bolt for the auto seat belts.... but it doesn't matter because it'll fit over the canadian B pillar trim anyway :)

the carpet is also different because there are no seat belt reels taking up space behind the center console

for all intents and purposes, the canadian seat belts are the same as the JDM and EDM seat belts... there's probably slight differences in the belts themselves, but it's all basically the same anyway
anyhow, it's probably much easier to get all the manual seat belt parts from canada instead of trying to bring them in from japan
