Hey guys, I'm picking up my 2012 soon, and I was wondering if any of you guys have done any of the dealership protection packages. I know they use First Canadian protection products,

http://www.firstcanadian.ca/chemical.htm

The paint protection costs approx. $400, and the undercoat spray about $500. What I am wondering is, is this stuff worth it? I'm really interested in the paint protection, but wonder how well it works. I've also heard of a 3M product, p/n 38600, that is supposed to do the same thing, for about $50 (10 cars worth). However, I can't seem to track this one down or anyone who uses it.

Any recommendations? Ultimately, my last car seemed to scratch incredibly easily, and I found myself waxing it all the time (I know crimson shows it well, but still). I would like a paint protector beyond waxing my car all the time.

I wondered the same thing about whether or not the paint protection is worth it. I really wish I got it though (assuming it actually works). My car is black though so everything shows up.

My dealer told me not to get it(paint protection) even though he offered it he said it wouldn't last 6 months. If you live in Canada I would get the undercoat spray.

I'd get it sprayed annually anyway for about 70 bucks. Combined with the corrosion warranty, I don't know if it's worth it. Some people have said that the spray gets in the engine bay and kind of make a mess. Has anyone seen it done in person?

Undercoating spray is a joke.

Don't do it, cars are pretty well rust "proofed" from the factory. Then again Nissan does have corrosion problems.

If you want to get it undercoated, take it to someone who knows how to do it, an independent shop, etc.

Those packages make as much sense as going to McDonald's and paying for ketchup

Well, I would say this is pretty conclusive, haha. Here is the stuff I was talking about. I couldn't find a website, only the MSDS. I assume it's more of a professional/industrial product. Anyone know where I can find this? It's supposed to be pretty cheap and as good as what dealerships use:
