are there anyone else experiancing this with dealers? i have tried on two occasions with a infiniti dealer and a nissan dealer. attempting to have car plugged up to a consult program and according to the fsm, can have multiple things done. when i confer about this, the techs look at me as if im talking another language. i actually got into a pissing contest with a nissan tech about my transmission and what the consult can do. log story short. he stated my transmission is shot and although we have the consult, the screen on the unit is faded and they cant see it. IDIOTS!! the infiniti dealer tells me $150 to pull codes. other than that, he doesnt seem to know what im talking about. im located in Maryland. any body else dealt with dealers like this? consult-does it exist or not?

Oh it exists. At this point you're dealing with technicians that weren't around when the car was produced, and either don't understand it or don't respect it enough to believe it should be fixed.

Most dealerships are used to customers letting them do the work so they can make the money needed to run them. Some get offended when you tell them what to do (True of most shops).

Whats the issue with the transmission your having? Sorry if you have to repeat yourself.

By the way the Consult will only tell the Tech if there is a electrical malfunction with the transmission. Unless the Tech is good enough to feel how and when the transmission shifts while looking at the Consult. Usually the Tech is in the passenger front seat while the customer drives.

Go to the Infiniti dealer next time (The oldest one near you) and ask to speak with the senior Infiniti Tech (or most senior guy as these guys are hard to find). Make sure this is on a Friday or Saturday before they close. Be prepared to tip the guy at least $5 for his time.
