I bought my 2007 M35x about a month ago, knowing it needed about $1k worth of work. Mostly it needs routine maintenance stuff like coolant and transmission flushes and brakes all around. Today I took it to the dealer for oil change and inspection to see if there was anything additional needed. I decided to wait for the vehicle because how long could an oil change and inspection take, right? Apparently nearly two hours. I had made an appointment and everything, and it still took that long! I know they are currently remodeling the dealership (Holman Infiniti in Maple Shade, NJ), so maybe they have fewer service bays? I was not happy. Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?

I don't think they had an issue doing the job, just took their time or didn't get to it as soon as you brought it in.

Try waiting three hours at Walmart. Your wait wasn't uncommon, if anything it was typical. Most dealerships don't offer quick lube services. Things can and do happen that can cause a delay in service, so I'm always prepared to spend several hours waiting, no matter what I'm having done or dealership I use.

Two hours is unacceptable. When I make my appointment, I usually get taken care of within 15 min after arriving. My service rep stamps the work order as "Express" and I'm in the lounge maybe 45 min to 1 hour - and that includes the inspection, the interior cleaning and a car wash.
I reckon not every Infiniti dealer has express service for oil / filter changes or maybe some just don't actually 'schedule' the techs effectively. I sometimes will call for a next-day 10am oil service and I'm told 10 is not good, can you make it 10:45 or 11? That tells me they actually know what's going on in the bays and what time a tech can start the job.

2 hours is pretty long, but to Rogue1's point, things do happen. You might try to figure out what complications could come up during an oil change, but I think it's more like "other work". For example, a quick oil change could take 20 minutes on a lift, and it takes the same amount of time to change 6 sparkplugs. An unscrupulous facility (in that they don't care about wait times) would rather use an hour to do 3 sparkplug jobs than 3 oil changes, because they can get more money faster within this time slot.
... That's when you take your car to a mafia-run dealership though, otherwise it might be as simple as being scheduled around the tech's break time.

I usually try to schedule my appointments at the end of the day. I find that as much as everyone is trying to go home, there's less rushing because of other appointments that would be affected by mine running a little late.

Roswell Infiniti services my M35X and they have an Express oil service. Never more than 1 hour. Pretty much go through the whole car with service inspection. They have a great waiting room with coffee, water, soft drinks and snacks. Very customer focused in my opinion.

Just to chirp in while viewing other fourms:
Roswell Infiniti is great and so is Infiniti of South Atlanta and they treat my 94Q exceptionally every time I go there, words of caution... never take your M35x to Infiniti of Gwinnett
