Dealer Service...KUDOS..UPDATE....Well not so much...

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I had a great experience with Bake Infinti/BMW/MB in Charleston. The service area is impeccable and the service was free. All I wanted was a multi point inspection as I was thinking of selling and it would be good to have. Bu the service was so good. I may now keep it and buy one of those discounted Service INFINITI Contracts (the dealer said he would match). (unless someone wants to pay $24500 increased from $23,650. LOL)

I had the car on Auto Trader for two days and got three calls, I passed on showing it because of the noise issue, But I have raised the price as well so the calls will slim down.

I had a noise that sounded like something winding down after I turned the car off. I was sure they would say they could not duplicate it ala Honda Toyota, even though I could not make it happen there they heard the bad bearing (I think fan motor) and indicated so on my paperwork.

I made an appointment for Monday morning and they will have a loaner for me.

I could get used to this kind of service. They treated a young black girl with a 2002 Infiniti with 200K miles the same as the guy who brought in a $80K Mercedes..Class acts.

EDIT: Went back and the tech heard the noise with the service adviser and said he would order the part (fan motor assy)...A week later (today) I drive 90 miles thinking they had the part and was told they did not order it because a lead tech had to hear it because the part was over $500......Of course the fan was not squeaking for him so I drove 90 miles back...Not happy. Never called me to tell me they did not order the part.....So much for premium automobile service....Well the coffee and pastry was good.

Very nice.

I think some dealers out there go the extra mile.

I've never been disappointed with the service in my home town either.

Are you still going to sell it?

Probably if I get my price. I still would rather not drive 200 miles RT only to have a "noise" suddenly fix itself.

The tech heard it and said they would order the part last week,I find out today after going all the way there he could not order the part because "it cost over $500" and the shop lead tech had to hear it....So .I drove down there today thinking they were going to replace the fan and they tell me they did not even order the part,,,,,of course the squeaking could not be heard on shut down. So I drove 90 miles home. Mind you last week the service adviser heard the noise and brought ot a tech who heard the noise and a week before they noted there was a noise...but one guy did not hear it so it's not going to be fixed ,They never even called me to tell me they did not order the part,

So all the good will I had for Infiniti service went down the tubes as far as I am concerned. I expect this from ford or GM but not from a premium car maker. Lexus is much better service wise. Seems Infiniti pinches pennies so I am leery about buying even a discounted service contract.

So yeah if I get my price I will sell it and look at a 2014 Grand Touring Mazda s3 Similar car with local service. If not I will buy a 3/36 contract and try to sell it with three years of protection in the Summer with less than 35K on the ODO.
