Dealer Service History

I have read about the recommendation of getting the service history from the dealer. I called a dealer today and they showed no records for the VIN I was looking at.

The car was leased is it possible they never took it in to dealer? I thought they had to have leased vehicles serviced.

Or are the records just archived?

If the car was not serviced at that particualr dealer, they will have to retrieve it from Infiniti.

The Canadian experience might be a bit different but ... I faxed Infiniti Canada and asked them if they could help me obtain any service records. They were able to see only warranty work but could confirm that my '94 had been in some 23 times over a 7-year period.

Mind you, they could not give me any details. For that information, I would have to contact the dealer that provided the service (and they were able to tell me which dealer). This promising story came to an end when I contacted the dealer ... only to find out that they had purged all of their older records.

When I was buying my q45 2002 5 month ago I called Infiniti directly they told me all the Infiniti dealers it was serviced at than I called those dealerships and got most of the information. Some info they couldn’t tell me it was against the low. But if you speak with someone nice and be polite to them they will tell you more than they are aloud.

Yes, register yourself with Infiniti Customer Service as the new owner of the car. Often they will offer to send service booklets if you are still in warranty and even new hard copy Owner's manuals.

Well I was trying to do this before I purchased the car. The seller bought it from a dealer and has no records, from before she owned it most of the cars life.

You can't register the car with Infiniti Customer Service until you won it.

Call them and give them the VIN and your information.

It is incomprehensible that the servicing dealers would not have records for that car.
