Are the lug wells on the 2011 Rogue SV rims suppose to come out all scratched up after a tire rotation? This has happened to me 3 times already, and I've had the dealer refinish twice.

welcome to the site!

this is a common problem on every rim. its not a big deal in my opinion. but since its the dealer, and they can afford to pay for their repair = why not LOL

yeah dealer did the same to mine, I didn't really care that much. I guess some techs can't handle the air gun

Yeah I was pretty mad the first two times. I go through great lengths to keep my rogue shiny and beautiful. 2 years down the line, zero dents or clear coat penetrating scratches. I'm mostly over it now because I assume it'll just happen again.

It's unfortunate that this is the only cosmetic blemish on my baby :,(

road salts, oily puddles, will do a lot worse than some lug nuts. if you want to keep your rims looking great - wax them.

I got em also, but then again I did purchase mine pre owned, so I can't really say anything. Now I just do it myself, and I use a coated impact socket.

Maybe have the dealer fix them again then next time the tires are to be rotated put some heavy duty tape around the inside. It would be a PIA but it should stop it. Or tell your dealership to use something like those Scooter71 posted.

i just use a regular 21mm socket and carefully remove my lugnuts. these idiots at the dealerships are getting paid $10/hr and could care less about your car. this is the dealerships fault. i would contact the GM and tell him about your constant experience.

Random question. Are the Rogue's lug nuts Mag seat, or Acorn/tuner?

Please say 12x1.5 :\ I don't have any 12x1.25 lugs that'll work on my other wheels.... just 12x1.5 Mag seat lugs.

It looks like it is M12 X 1.25

Enter year, make, model of your car and it says the required nut size.

That's the thing, when I asked about it, they showed me that plastic sleeve and said they used it and the above posted pic was the result -__-. Service manager wouldnt budge and said its what I should expect.

^^^ Dude that sucks. Sorry man, I don't buy it, but I still feel bad for you. I think the dealer is full of BS of colossal proportions. I've been using those things on vehicles for years never ever had an issue.

this is a common problem for a sloppy tech and cheap tools.. A thick wall impact socket + air gun vibration + sloppy hand = scratches like you have :)

I have a 2012 Rogue sv with the "standard" rims for that model ( I believe they're alloy/aluminum? Not steel with a plastic wheel cover) What is the finish on them? Is it painted? I just picked up a nail and had a tire replaced. Gotta check and see if they got scratched. Should I use standard car paste wax like turtle wax or something specifically for rims?
