My sedan had 55,000 miles and my dealer sent a letter that offered service for cars in my age bracket , 2004. Does anyone know what they do to decarbonize? Do they scrape off parts? Or just put some injectors cleaner in.

The best decarbonizer is a heavy throttle foot. Methinks the dealer is trying to pad his bottom line with snake oil sales.

You can also use BG-44K to clean fuel injectors and, at the same time, burn off some of that excess carbon build-up with a lead foot.

My engine (in the 2003 M45) is prone to carbon build-up if you do not drive it spritedly.
