Post

Hey everyone.

For those who have followed my posts in the past, you will know that I have gone through a plethora of problems with the car and headaches with the dealership in order to get those issues fixed. Endless trips to the dealership, infact its back again there tnite! (I've got a Versa sitting in the garage until tmorrow!) Neways, I had sent out a letter to Nissan, outlining every thing that I have been through. They told me that 1 - Replacing the car is "not an option". 2 - Everything will continued to be replaced under warranty. So the Senior Customer Service Consultant has been in touch with the Service Manager at the dealership and after speaking about the issues, the Service Manager said he is ready to offer some type of "reimbursement" for my trouble....however, it isn't what I was hoping it would be (it never is!); I was hoping I'd get some monthly payments excused...but since that "is not under control of Nissan Canada, or Dealership" Nissan Finance dept. will not comply to that.

SOooooo, the service manager said he is ready to offer me other stuff that would be equivalent to taking some payments off the car, like Free Servicing, or like an Extended Warranty....he also said, to think about it and let him know if there something else I would like instead.

So my question to you folks is....what should I do? I know the Extended Warranty is a great offer...espescially with the issues we are all experiencing so far with this car! But I was thinking, what about trying to get the LED turn signals installed from the 3.5? Fogs?.....Possibly 350z rims???? Who knows what he is ready to offer me other than what he has mentioned...I'm just brainstorming right now...and I would like your help.

Thanks everyone!

I have followed most of your posts and you have been through more than I could ever tolerate. My only thought is...why would you keep this car? by now I would have been over to my local honda, toyota dealership or traded this in for another nissan and hope for the best.I can understand loss of value being that it is new, but, man you are spending way too much time fixing this.

I am not faulting you just feel your pain and frustration.

Now, to answer your question, I would ask for the 350z wheels and tires at no cost.

One other option you may want to try. In the states, most car dealerships are owned by large corporations like AutoNation, etc. You can write/call the corporate office and appeal to the CEO, etc. They really dont want unhappy people out there. If the dealership you bought the car from is owned by a indivdual, then you can only go to the owner/GM.

good luck

Thanks for your advice. And yah I've contiplated trading it in for an Accord Coupe.....atleast I know that won't make cheap noises and it's more reliable....hmmm we'll see.

In the meantime, about the owner, we once spoke to the GM at the Dealership and he was quite the ***-hole. We asked about the owner, he explained he is some 60-65 year old man who has a huge mansion up on a hill in Arizona and comes around once in awhile. So I'm SOL there.

I can admit though that the service manager himself is pretty tired of these issues, but hey its more money for his dealership! These guys love fixing stuff under warranty because Nissan pays them a ****load of labor.

.....deeep sighhh.......

****ty thing about the 350Z wheels is that they are a staggered setup...I wouldn't benefit. Too bad it ain't Infinity, I'd KILL for the G37 S Rims!

Screw the mods and addons. Just get them to give you a very long extended warranty. Getting new wheels will do nothing for you when the tow truck comes and gets you on the highway. I hope you get something out of this. This is brutal.

Is there a lemon law in Canada? Here in the States, I think it goes something like this: the dealer/service department has three chances to fix the problem(s), after that, you are eligible for the lemon law, and the dealer pretty much has to eat your car and give you another one. My father had issues with a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, and he gave the dealer five shots, he ended up getting a new truck. And if there isn't, Id shoot for roadside assistance and the longest bumper to bumper and drive train warranty possible. The problem I see though is that if you plan on modifying the car, the dealer will find every little thing to blame on the aftermarket pieces.

LOI, does it really mater as long as your happy with the car? I don't care about brand loyalty one bit, I've learned too well that I don't gain anything from being loyal, since all companies only care for our money

So trading in the Coupe is a waste of time and money....it's not worth it for me to lose so much money. They believe my car would be worth around 25-26 grand....and thats max....so EFFF DAT.

The dealership had to keep my car another day, because they can't figure out what to do with the headliner sagging issue. It's a new damn headliner and its starting to sag again! They took care of the heat shield rattle problem which was the recall. But they said they will have to wait and see what Nissan's Tech Line suggest to them about the Headliner....sooo...neways hopefully I can get rid of that Versa sitting in my garage and get my baby back...I wanna install this sub and go on with my life already!!!
