My dealer will not issue a loaner on issue's with the car even when it was 2 wks old. Capo Nissan! Are your dealers offering loaners?

I have yet to experience a problem that required my Versa to be in the shop for more than a couple of hours, but yes, as part of my extended warranty through Nissan, my dealership will issue me a loaner car if the part needs to be ordered in for my Versa (thus making the car sit useless for a couple of days).

Never have received a loaner for anything from Nissan (Infiniti is a different story).

What I have found in the past (with other non-Nissan dealers) is it depends on what is being done to your car that justifies a loaner. The more expensive and length of the repair...even if under warranty...the greater the chance for a loaner.

What exactly did you have to take your V in for and how long was the repair going to take?

The fuel pump issue after 1200 miles. Also the after market alarm they had installed went haywire(which i didn't want)this was 2days after buying the car. It seems customer happiness isn't a priorty anymore. The extended warrenty is 2000$ or more. As far as time it would take i needed a car to go to work 4 hours is too long to sit there and wait and miss work.

customer service isn't what it used to be everywhere. Cost vs. customer happiness seems to be on the rise every day. If you want better service, you unfortunately have to ask for it.

My parents got work done on their Armada a few times and they usually just got a 2008 Altima 2.5. Any issues with my car I went through insurance and got my loaner car from them. Honestly, I think it really depends on your local stealership. Fortunately, the one in this area isn't horrible like others I've seen on the board describe.

It depends on your dealer ship and what work is being done.

Ours will give a loaner, but you have to be the first one there. Its a first come first serve thing, and they only have like 3.

Dealers aren't required by law to give you a loaner, its up to you to have another source ( A cheap beater is good for that, something that you can buy in full, cheap to fix, and cheap to insure, keep it running and drive it when your main vehicle breaks down)

I paid the extra to get a 7 year warranty only because a 3 year warranty from Nissan is not very much. I'd still be making payments and have no coverage. So at least I still have 5 more years left of my warranty.

I have yet to leave my car there for more than a few hours to fix my sunroof and replace the FPR (all on one day). I left the car there for a couple hours, but just asked for the shuttle to take me home since it was during a day I had off last summer. My dad could always take my car in for me during the week since he works nights, and I could always borrow one of his vehicles.

So far our dealership has been great with the service we have received. The salesman that sold me the car (and my brother's SE-R) always makes a point of saying hi to our family, and see how the vehicle is treating us, lol ...

What type of alarm did Nissan install? I wanted an alarm installed on my Versa, and the dealership refused to install one (aftermarket or OEM) and provide a warranty on it. :(

It was a "lot" alarm so the car alarm goes off if tampered with. Its was intergrated with the nissan alarm and chirped all the time.

Maybe I'm wrong here but requesting a loner for a few days I could understand but 4 hours? lol I'm sorry even if your car was 2 days old 4 hours is a very short period of time in the grand scheme of things. I'd personally just eat the 4 hours off work, have someone take me to work and back e.g. "taxi" or find another way to do it. I think if I seriously asked the dealer for a loner car for 4 hours I'd expect them to laugh. It's an entry level car we bought not mid range or even high end. If I could afford it I'd have a secondary "beater" car for just such things.

You must live closer than i do. And to eat 4hours must be alot less stress on your finances and job Responsibilities then mine. And no matter what the grade of car you or i purchased . The facts remain i was ignored when less than 48hrs they were kissing everyone's A#$S just for a SALE. That being said i was treated better thourgh MANY other car dealers purchases than this one.
To there credit they have fixed all other problems promptly. And i am happy with my ENTRY level car as you call it.
Thanks

I don't care if they do think it is an entry level vehicle, I am still a customer and deserve to be treated the same as any other Nissan customer that they interact with. I think that is what lexluther is trying to say. He made a purchase from them; and is a customer.

My dealer will loan out a vehicle if the part you need replaced has to be ordered in and won't be in on the same day. So far, they have always done what we have asked. We purchased two brand new vehicles from them within a 2 year period and a 3rd could be purchased there as well. If they want to keep us interested in their vehicles; they will do whatever they can to make us happy customers.

If I wasn't given a loaner because it was going to be fixed that same day, I'd have the Nissan shuttle drive me wherever I had to be and pick me up; or I'd borrow my parents vehicle for the day. Generally I only try to take the Versa in when I have a day off but sometimes things happen to the vehicle that do not allow us to do that.

Thanks aidan Thats my point. I'm Not over picky with creeks and rattles as other people are but i should be treated as well as someone buying any other brand of Nissan. Its a Purchase!!! And My dealer will not shuttle me 40miles to work.

I'm not picky either with little creaks or rattles (which I rarely ever hear since installing my dash kit) ... I have only ever brought her in for a leaking sunroof and FPR. But regardless of what the issue is, you should still be treated as a customer. A purchase from them is a purchase; it should not matter what price you paid or vehicle you bought.

My dealership has been great so far. The salesman knows that my dad is in the market for a new car, and when Chuckie dies; he'll be buying himself a new car. If they want my dad to come back for a new vehicle from them (that would make it the 3rd new vehicle from them) then they will do whatever they can to make us happy customers. That's why when they didn't want to fix my sunroof, we talked to our salesman who then spoke to the management. They fixed it ... for free :D

I don't live too far my the nearest dealer or work. I suppose depending on your job it's responsibilities/functions/stress levels and if your employer allows the use of vacation leaves or paid time off 4 hours isn't much in the grand scheme of things? Then again your position maybe critical for your organization and 4 hours is unacceptable. For myself in my position I've only one car if I had to wait I'd wait luckily for me I can work remotely from just about anywhere I can get online. I agree if you were ignored that's different, shouldn't be ignored even if we have bought lower down the foot chain. Although if your 40 miles from work and the work on your car is going to take 4 hours the dealer may just be thinking by the time they drop you at work and send someone to pick you up again they'd be spending a lot of time and money on someone whom they didn't make a lot of profit from. I'm just thinking if I was the dealer and the $ was the bottom line that could be one line of thought? That of course don't make it right.

It is an entry level car that's not what I'd call it but it's what it's called it's the first stop in the current line up. We're driving from the bottom of the pile but I admit it feels nothing like entry level at all to drive or sit in. If I didn't know better I'd been guessing a lot further up the food chain. I've been in and driven many small entry level cars back home in Europe and they felt cheap, lots of dull plastic with noisy engines some were even quite metallic years ago at some spots inside. So far my car has had minimal creeks or groans actually quite inside with only the buzz of the engine to be heard at higher speeds. Overall I'd say these cars for what they are and what we've paid and what I personally needed far outshine the competition.

I'm glad your issue was resolved lets hope it's the only issue you have to encounter with the Versa. :)
