I'm posting this as a new thread rather than to the original seat belt replacement thread because the last post was several years ago. post6102824.html#p6102824

I took my 2001 QX4 to the dealer today to get my front seat belts replaced under the lifetime warranty. The service advisor had previously ordered the belts and called me when they were received by the dealership for the installation appointment.

The dealer ended up installing two different colored seat belts. The driver's side is the correct tan color and the passenger side is some kind of gray/black color. It looks ridiculous.

I asked to see the parts manager who said that Infiniti was "out" of the correct colored passenger's side seat belt and no more could be ordered.

I pretty much went ballistic and the manager said he would try again to find the correct color.

So, has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking I should call Infiniti, but I'd like to know if there is any merit to what I was told by the parts manager.

I got new belts for mine 2 or 3 years ago and didn't have any problems other than the dealership being cranky about having to do it in the first place.

Even if what he's saying is true, that's not your problem and belts being different colors is just not acceptable. I might be willing to go for black or gray belts in a tan interior or something but they'd have to at least match. Its sounds like they're just being lazy. If they keep it up contact corporate like towncivilian recommends in that thread you linked to.

I don't even understand why a dealer wouldn't want to do the work. Its my understanding that Nissan reimburses it. Last time I called an closer Infiniti dealer about some warranty work on a Nissan they said they would love to do warranty and recall work all day long if they could but I had to take it to a Nissan dealer.

Just so you know, unless it's a classifieds listing, thread age is generally not relevant. That being said, your topic is about poor customer service more so than just getting your seat belts changed.

They didn't retract. When they were pulled out, they just hung there. You would have to manually feed them back in.
