long story, so im going to outline it as to avoid wall-0-text

5/30/08 - Ordered Altima Coupe, 3.5SE, 6MT, premium+tech, dark slate

~6/10/08 - i approach the dealer with the idea that I may not get my car, i hear stories of people being told they will get an 09 instead, and have to wait until sept/oct. Dealer tells me nope, a deal is a deal, you will get your 08 in about 4 weeks.

6/25/08 - dealer admits that i will have to wait until october for an 09 if i still want a special order.

6/29/08 - dealer finds an 08 A/C, 3.5SE 6MT, premium, dark slate (no tech), so i settle, because i dont want to wait 3 more months for my car.

6/30/08 - i purchase insurance on the car given the vin and sign the necissary loan paperwork so i could get that 3.9% financing deal, and the dealer tells me " the car is being shipped to a diff dealership now, when it arrives there(scheduled to arrive on 7/2), we will send drivers and they will pick it up for you (another $400 charge).

7/2/08 - call dealer, car hasnt arrived at the 'other' dealership.

7/3/08 - call dealer, car hasnt arrived at the 'other' dealership.

7/5/08 - call dealer, car hasnt arrived at the 'other' dealership.

7/6/08 - call dealer, car hasnt arrived at the 'other' dealership.

7/7/08 - i get fed up and call this other dealership. "Hi, I was browsing online resources and found you guys have a 3.5SE, 6MT with premium, is it still available?" Salesman:"Yep, are you interested? cmon down and give it a drive"...So i call my dealership, spitting fire freakin out b/c my car, which i have been paying insurance on for a week, without having the car, is on a lot in another state for 'sale'. All this didnt happen until end of day and my local dealership couldnt deal with it at that time so i came in the next day.

7/8/08 - go to my local dealership, express my discontent with how the ENTIRE process was handled, explained how I have been technically paying insurance and a car loan for 2 weeks WITHOUT A CAR. And i want to be compensated.

SSSOOOOOOO the sales manager comes over (I was making a scene in the middle of the dealership at this point, i was livid) and asks me what it will take to make me happy . . .well . . .

The amount of money it cost me to pay for the insurance and payemnts for 2 weeks was about 400, so i wasnt trying to rob anyone, i thought up a decent mod that would be a hassle for me, but easy for them. what did i come up with?

(not the window wing, the rear wing is what i got)

They are going to order it from stillen, paint it, and install it. They also told me that they are having the drivers pick it up today, they need to do a 'safety inspection' and detail it, and I can pick it up tomorrow. SO i am anxiously anticipating 24 hours from now.

well . . . looks like i failed at no wall-0-text, o well, just hope u all didnt have this much trouble getting your A/C's. I sure do feel like im going to appreciate mine a whole lot more now.

Just so I am staight on the situation... you are paying an extra $400, to have someone drive YOUR brand new car BEFORE you do, ontop of the already tacked on $660 destination charge?? I call ... but at least you're getting your coupe!

BTW I just got your email... keep me posted!

I dont believe I paid a destination charge b/c I didnt follow through with the special order . . . that charge is a thing that is only tagged on for special orders no? (not sure this is my assumption)

but ya, <shrug> i dont even care at this point, i have been waiting 6 weeks, and i want my car!!!!!!!! haha

I hear you on just wanting it at this point... you are one step ahead of me on that ... but no, IIRC the destination charge is tacked on no matter what... I was just thinking... THEY will be putting miles on the car before you even see it, and they are making you pay for them to drive it first. I probably would have put the extra $400 to have them ship it up. Or contact that dealership (or another one for that matter) and make the deal with them, and arrange your own pickup for what could be less then the $1k, milage, and possiblity any damage to your brand new car.

Congrats man! enjoy it anways!

oh no no, i financed 20k of the car, so that is 2 weeks of insurance and car payments (cause like i said, all the loan paperwork was put through on the 30th so i could take advantage of the 3.9% financing)

LOL this cracks me up because who in their right mind insures a car they havent taken posession of yet... and DONT KNOW when they will even get it?

A good insurance agent or company would not add a car that you have not taken posession of because technically you dont have insurable interest in the vehicle yet unless the title of the vehicle has been already placed in your name. Also... why would you insure a car that you havent seen in person yet? anyways... when a car is on order or back order... you should never insure the car or really sign anything until you see it at the dealership with your own eyes... the dealership have and pay for insurance that protects them in the event a car is damaged or totaled before delivery to a customer. If they pressured you into getting the insurance prior to even getting the car at the dealership... then you should take that cost up with them or NISSAN USA or BBB. if you willingly put the insurance on it yourself... then smack yourself on the forehead and call yourself Sally... because you just got bent over like a thailand hooka, LOL jk

but seriously... me being a previous insurance agent i wouldnt even sign for a car that i havent seen for myself... unless i had a butt load of money and was special ordering a lambo or bently or bugatti for 1.2 gajillion dollars. also when they find your car... will it be transported on a flatbed or car transporting tractor trailer... or will it be actually driven to the dealership thus incurring more mileage? dealerships depending on distance or availablity of delivery transportation services may just rely on someone physically driving it.. thus putting more wear and tear on the vehicle, risking possibility of an accident ... etc

ahh enuff ranting already im sleepy and need to get to bed. got work tomorrow.

ahh now i should correct my post but it looks like you signed your paperwork, registration/title and loan documents prior to them getting the car... so i can understand the need for insurance or else they wouldnt offer the loan (physical damage coverage requirement)

but seriously... i would have told them i am totally interested in this vehicle... i wont sign anything until you get it to avoid opening myself up to more risk... but take this check deposit of $X,XXX.00 and hold it till you get the car. of course write me something on your dealership letterhead that u will accept this deposit in goodfaith and wont deposit it unless you have received the vehicle in question and have contacted me when it is in your posession... etc.

but anyways.... for all that i would have asked for the stillen front fascia and rockers... screw the lip spoiler. or a set of compatible g35 or z wheels or custom leather/suede interior... etc

mike . . .i was fully aware of everything you stated when i did what i did. I did it because it saved me thousands of dollars in financing. period.

oh and PS . . .

I GOT IT W00TTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SSSOOOOOOO FAST hahahahahaha i been driving a junker my whole life, this thing just hits 85-95 on the highway without even trying (not racing haha, lets not get that started, just normal cruising)

I am so happy and pleased with the 3.5, its amazing.

I got the car with 162 miles on it and not a single mark/nick/scratch, AND i got it all in during the special financing, im a happy camper.

(I Know i know ill post pics tomorrow sometime, even tho its only stock =P i need a sig! haha)

rofl ya, average new car rates around here would be anywhere from 5-8%, i got it for 3.9, that piece of mind is worth the 160miles that was put on the car

oh and based in theur perfirmance if i was u i would give them hell on their survey when they call u....just because they gave u the free "stuff" at the end doesnt negate the fact that things still went wrong and they handled it poorly...

good luck with your car!!!
