Here is why you NEVER use a dealer for financing a new OR used car. ALWAYS go to your bank first. If they say no, go to another and another until one of them says yes. That's lots of leg work, but it always saves you thousands of dollars.

Dealer 'verbally' quoted $31,000 for a new Toyota Tacoma and offered her $11,000 for her trade-in. Customer is partially to blame because at signing, she never actually looked to ensure that her verbal price appeared on the contract, and she singed it! I am not a hunter. But imagine lock your rifle on a deer in the woods. The deer actually looks right at you and instead of running, it stops and poses for you. The dealer added thousands of dollars to the contract and because she signed it, she was stuck. She went to her credit union and was able to refinance the loan. Watch to see the difference in the numbers - $20,000 amazing!

looks like they slapped on a hefty aftermarket warranty (despite being new car) and a hefty service contract as well.

Pretty sure Andy is the only dealer employee I'll ever trust.

Although to be fair, I don't really trust people in general...

Be very careful ! Some aftermarket policies override the manufacturer's warranty. Read the sucker or more to the point don't sign up for one. You have paid for the factory warranty so don't throw it away.

Better idea: Don't buy a car you can't pay cash for. ;)

In 1965 I bought a Nova Station Wagon. After several useless negotiating sessions, I tore out a check, placed it face down and said "When you say the right number I will turn it over and sign it. Otherwise I will tear it up and walk out." I got my price.
