First off, thanks to this forum, I know what the popping noise is after start up when moving out of first gear. I took my brand new car to the dealer to have it checked out, they test drove it, called the smart technical guys at Nissan, but "could not find anything". And, now, after reading my owners manual in detail,,,I know. It's supposed to happen!! So thank you so much for the info. I can't believe the dealer didnt...(or maybe I can). I did see a sweaty chubby dude bending over my engine with a red bandana looking rather confused!!

I also really appreciate the parts breakdown thread for bolt on mods for my coupe. I have read most of the "read this first" threads to avoid asking the dreaded repeat questions,,,and can now ask a pointed one.

I know I have to get someone's approval for a GB. And the Y pipe and short shifter from Racing Line are on back order. How does a GB work? Im confident anyone with a stock Altima would want these first and foremost as shifting my MT takes for ev ER!!!

Although I cant help you with a Gb, I can give you a little advice on how to increase the shifting feel. Look into switching out the shift knob. Get a heavy one and you'll def feel a difference and increase in shifting. Ive been waiting for the sts from racingljne aswell but the new shift knob has def helped with the feel meanwhile. I got a razo ra96 and I love it.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I was looking at the thread about shift knobs and trying to decide which one I wanted. Will the knob just screw on or do I need to do anything else?

yeah they screw off and on, but not all knobs are compatible with our reverse lockout. if you want another improvement for shifting, you should look into changing to a synthetic transmission fluid

You would have to try and get Racingline in here to start the group buy. Just email or send a PM to Joe, he is a member here on the forum.

Scotty doesnt know...

Thanks guys for the info. I have had my Coupe since August and am still running stock. I can't wait to make those changes that would give me a little extra HP and improve the whole m/t driving experience. I bought my car right off the truck, black on black 3.5 m/t, yes absolutely.

I emailed Joe before I joined this forum and it seems to me everyone who has a 3.5 would want the y-pipe and STS.

I was also looking into the Rays rims off of a G35, 350 or 370. I really wanted the Enkei GTC01's but those are crazy expensive. The guy at Discount Tire told me to not get 19"s because the tires are "rare" and to go ahead and get 20"s. Is there any truth to this?

Im excited to learn a LOT about my car and find some parts on this site!!

Tires for 19s are expensive. Mine are 245/40/19 and they run around 330 each.

WHAT?!?!?! What kind of tires? Are they gold plated?

I run Falken FK452s 245/40/19 and I think I got them for around $149 each. Not the best tires out there but I run them 8 months a year and Ive had them since April 2010 (16 total months on the car), they show little to NO wear. You dont need to buy the most expensive tire on the rack.

:mike Michelin pilot sport plus a/s. I didn't pay that for them. Buts that's how much they would of ran me. I originally bought continental extreme contact tires but 2 arrived messed up. The guys over at discount tire gave me a free upgrade since I paid them off full in cash.

Any truth about what the DT guy said about just getting 20"s instead?

I see a ton of rides here with Rays and was considering that option instead. But, Id want black for sure. Since my stock tires are pretty new, I think I'll go ahead and work on the bolt on stuff first.

As everyone with a coupe wants the Racingline sts and y-pipe, Id think a GB would be a no brainer.

Oh, and I used this thread as my intro so Howdy everyone!!

I'm in need of the sts. Go with preference on wheel size. You could get 20s but they'll be heavier and you'll have less tire. Check out my car. Its on 19s :naughty:

I emailed Joe about a GB. I read somewhere on this forum the appropriate etiquette to arrange a GB and want to ensure I follow it. If we could get together for a y-pipe + STS package that would be even more awesome. However, I dont think Joe has a pipe for the 2.5's yet.

Not sure the STS would work that great in group buy since the MT demographic isn't very large at all however a ypipe one would work very well.

Great! A y-pipe works for me! What do we need to do to get that started? I know a moderator/administrator person has to "authorize" it. Has anyone initiated a GB before? :ohno:

GB anyone ???? help. crickets....
