Hey Guys. So here's the deal, I just bought a S13 with RB25DET for $2K. First thoughts were, you cant beat this deal which I guess is still true. Thing is: there are more than a few issue with it. I'll just make a list to simplify things:

1. The engine mounts are either these cheap ebay mounts (http://www.ebay.com/itm/240sx-rb20det-r ... 9a&vxp=mtr) or the Zerolift mounts. Either way, the ebay ones are modeled after the zerolift mounts.
2. Duct tape where hose clamps should be
3. Silicone tubing where vacuum lines should be
4. Horribly fabricated "downpipe manifold"
5. No dump tube; wastegate exhaust venting to atmosphere in the engine bay
6. Did come with a Wiring Specialties harness :)
7. Power steering not connected and just sitting in the engine bay; one side of the tubing is missing
8. Coil pack cover missing
9. KA radiator and unknown aluminum coolant reservoir
10. Unknown intercooler and piping (maybe another ebay buy)
11. Tsuedo exhaust; Tsuedo doesnt make a RB25DET S13 exhaust so i think thats where the "custom fabricated" dump pipe manifold came from...they had to use the stock KA exhaust flange to mate it with the Tsuedo exhaust....Ghetto

We pulled the engine last night and found a lot of oil in the coolant. I don't know how long it has been running like this but I believe it will require a total rebuild. The guy I bought it from didnt know too much history on the car and engine so I will most likely rebuild the engine. Aw Ratz!

As far as the body goes, I will need a new hatch. The one installed is rusted through and not worth repairing. The firewall has a ton of carbon on it due to the ghetto wastegate. The driver side rear frame rail has been crushed. Not completely but enough to make me uneasy about it. There is also some dings here and there and a dent on the passenger side rear quarter. The passenger side door latch wont catch and stay closed. The driver side window is ghetto rigged to use a second switch to go down. I havent even checked to see if the power locks worked lol. The rear interior is stripped. Not a big deal since I was probably gonna do that anyways. I havent checked to see if the A/C controls worked. I just feel that I could buy a roller in acceptable condition and put the RB in there instead of putting the work/time into fixing this one. Any comments/tips/guidance will be GREATLY appreciated.

I need to take more. Thanks for looking.

dood if its really bad just get a clean rolling chassis and dont even waste your time. after i wrecked my first s13 i bought this junker for $800 and fixed everything myself. it came out okay but if i had the luxury of not doing it over again i would.

Yea I figured for the amount of man hours and money I have to put in to make this chassis worthy of the RB25, I might as well buy an already clean roller and put my money into the rebuild of the engine. Looks like you did a pretty good job at the body work on your 13. Thanks for the tips

Pics of the chassis or engine? Either way, I'll have to get some when there is some light outside. You check out the ones on photobucket?
