Well, I was gonna buy one until I found this:

"-This laser is NOT legal in the US unless you have a FDA Variance that you have to set up with the FDA. This laser is a class 4 laser that requires a key turn lock, Beam block shutter and other safety components for US safety standards (this "light saber" has none).
-The problem with WickedLasers is they don't give a sh$t if you have a variance. You just have to sign a safety checklist on their site & they will ship it to you. If you are in the US, lasers that are 4.9mw & below are legal in the hands of someone that does not have a variance from the FDA. I don't see any reason why anyone would need a beam strength this high except for the cool factor and with cool factor come irresponsibility when showing it off. This laser is illegal without variance and not safe in the hand of someone that has not done an amazing amount of research on safe laser displays and variances by FDA. Please be safe"

I tried calling the FDA's Radiation-emitting devices department to confirm, but got re-directed to an answering machine and gave up.
