Dead odometer J30

Greetings!'96 J30 & the odometer has stopped working.Speedometer works fine, but the odometer & trip O/D have stopped.I'm guessing at a busted gear in the speedo. Any one have a similar issue?&& How do I get the Speedo unit out of the dash?

This is somewhat common failure, especially for vehicles driven or previously owned in a northern climate. I had my dealer put in a new instrument cluster about 5 or 6 years ago while my car still had warranty remaining. My understanding is the speedo, trip OD, temp sensor and tachometer are one whole unit and not separate components so you gotta buy the whole unit. Contact your local dealer or everythinginfiniti.com for a price. I have no idea about DIY replacement.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan on selling it soon. You can pick up used cluster's on ebay. My tach was shot so I replaced the whole thing. You can replace parts of the cluster, but is not easy to do.
