Last night, we went over a speed bump and the car died. When you turn the key the car doesn't turn over. The lights can go on and the door chime sounds, but that's it. No other sounds.

The car will start with the non factory remote for the alarm, but as soon as you step on the brake to shift into reverse, drive, or even neutral - the car shuts off.

We looked at all the fuses, and found a 20amp fuse blown under the hood.We replaced the fuse, and everything was fine.

Now this morning, my husband was leaving my job and went over a speedbump. The car died again. He popped the hood and found the same fuse we replaced last night to be blown. He replaced the fuse but it blew right away. He wasted 4 more fuses, all blew right away.

What the heck is going on, and how do we fix it?!

What is that fuse protecting ??Sounds like a loose connection or a bare wire getting shorted with the bump.

I have no idea. My husband just called a mechanic friend of his and he thinks it might have something to do with the wires n the trunk that used to be hooked up to an amp and speakers.

Thanks for responding so quickly. Wow!

Thats how e operate round here Yeah.. any unused wiring should be insulated well.If the main power line was bumping a ground point back there it would be no bueno.

Sounds like you need to look at the remote start system that was added to the car. A wire in that system is probably loose or hanging to the point of grounding itself. It must be from the remote start system.
