G,Day,I have recently acquired an Infiniti Q45 which just stopped runing. The previous owner switched off the ignition and a whiloe later tried to start it and nothing happened, the motor did not even turn over. I am in Australia and this car was imported in directly and not a dealer product, so there is not much information or backup locally. It has a owner manual in Japanese, which is Japanese to me. Is there any imobiliser cut of switch, or system in place that you know of or has this happened to anyone before who could give me some info as to sorting it out. I think the car is too good to scrap and there must be some logical reason for this. Anyone got any ideas?. Thanks. Regards, John.

Hello mate, hows everything down under!Since you have absolutely no power the first thing i would do is check to see if the battery is dead, and make sure all cables are connected good and tight. Then check to see if you have a bad fuse or relay.let me know.by the way WELCOME TO NICO,its a great place,im pretty new heremyself only been here about a year, i love it!!!!!!!!

Well, you didn't day what year, but US models before 1994 had the had the non-metal backed cahin guides which failed. So your motor may be doing you a favor as most stress is placed on the guides at initial cold start-up.

So read the timing chain guide Article in that forum and decide what your priorities are for your new acquisition. Knowledge from this Forum and the FSM, TSB and OM will save you a lot of money and grief.
