My drivers seat won't move via the door switches. All motors move when jumped with power leads. No LED lights on memory settings. 10A "Room Lamp" fuse under the hood is blown, and pops every time a new fuse is put in.
I understand the room lights are tied to the BCM for diagnostics, so maybe a short in the lamp circuit is causing the BCM to shut down and not control the seat.
Any advice from someone who has dealt with this would be appreciated. I have a FSM, but no consult.
I'm about to take it to the stealership.

Only this post, but a member since 2009? Either way :welcome: (back?) to NICO!

I think your theory is a good one. I'd try to figure out where that dead short would be in the room lamp circuit. Finding a Tech at a dealership that has any early Q experience is going to be difficult. I doubt a dealer tech will be more helpful than any other random technician, unless you can find an old one. :D

Where are you located?

Thanks for the welcome. I had posted a lot in the past, but not on the forum for Q45. I have owned five Q45s from 90 to 94. I decided to keep two. One is a 94, previously owned by Wes Stenson and the founder of NICO Dr. Rex. The other is a clean and straight 91.
I'm moving to China to work for a year or more on July 10th. These will be my transportation when I come home to visit, but I won't have time for wrenching. Hopefully i can accumulate some feedback over the next year that will give me good starting points when i have time to dig into it again.

Oh, and I'm located in Ohio, just north of Cincinnati.

Interesting! I didn't know Wes had sold the Q45.

Have you done any work on the car recently that would relate to the room lamp circuit? The only other thing I can think of, is that having shorted tail light bulbs can cause all kinds of lighting issues. The lead tips on the 1157 bulbs can melt together, particularly if the bulb is non OEM and pulls more current than the factory bulbs. You should also notice not being able to put the transmission in gear without pressing the shift lock button.

+1 to not knowing Wes sold the 94 model. With a bit of trivia, I'm running the automatic transmission Level10 built for Dr. Rex in my 91 that was originally in that 94. It is a small Q world.
