Well I was doing the map update, had my trickle charger hooked up, and the battery still decided to die. I had noticed it seemed a bit weak on the starts lately.

What is the deal with the battery warranty? I bought the car 4 months ago with the elite warranty; 2012 model year.

*Edit - Question answered about the warranty by the dealer - Fully covered, no problem, bring it in...

That being said should I even bother with another "Infiniti" battery?

I would do it only because it's free. However, if you want a long term solution you need to get a better battery. I have an Optima Yellowtop, which I swear by, but others here don't care for...

Infiniti really needs to take a look at how much electronics they have in their cars vs. the battery/alternator output. I bet it is at the bare minimum.

Thanks for all the info!

Being an accountant the free battery appealed to me, unfortunately my service manager told me to bring the battery down, what he meant to say was bring the car down; the dealer would not honor it without the car. I am not making that trip across town again so it looks like I am going to be taking the suggestions you guys have offered.

Batteries do not last long in hotter climates, maybe a year in a half if your lucky. Optimas are the bee knees.

Optima's used to be the cats pajamas, until their production was outsourced to China. Sears Die Hard or Interstate batteries are much better quality than Optimas now. But as far as the OP is concerned, I'd have an Infiniti battery put back in it as its under warranty.
