Time to work out the next bug. When going 55+ mph and I let up on the gas I get this very loud noise (it sounds like a rattle or vibration type noise) and it shakes the car. It feels like its coming from somewhere in the drivetrain (from under the drivers). It doesn't feel like its coming from the front of the car, either the mid or rear of the car. It doesn't happen right when I let up on the gas most of the times, it take a couple seconds for it to start. The noise slows down as the engine speed does. I can make it do it at lower speeds sometimes (like 40 mph and under). But most of the time its not as bad at lower speeds as to higher speeds.

Does anyone know what tghe problem might be? If you have any questions that might help you figure it out just ask, I'll try to relay what the car is doing the best I can. Thanks, Nate

It is most likely the driveshaft center bearing located half-way along the driveshaft. Those things wear out quite frequently.

The carrier bearing? I just did a 5 spd swap (never drove the car before the swap) so I had to get a 5 spd driveshaft. Is it safe to drive it with it doing this? I'm going to be taking a 1,500 mile trip in about a week and a half and I need to know if I'm going to have problems or if it needs to be fixed before then.

Ok, so what needs to be replaced? Is the center bearing the carrier bearing?

How sure are you that this is the problem? Is their anything I can check before I pay to replace it (I think their like $100).
