DE TO HR??????
anybody know if we can get our 06-07s with the vq35de tuned to push 300+ like the vq35hr in 08-10's? like would the dealer be able to do it? or is it not that simple?

It would require a lot of aftermarket bolt ons that are required to increase intake and exhaust flow, fuel delivery, plus a good tune. Or go force induction route.
I was able to achieve 291rwhp with the mods and tuning I had... That would translate close to 340--350ish at the crank...where car makers quote hp ratings.
I just wish our cars came with a 7spd!!!! My E350 was 7spd and it was fun while in manual mode....

You can tune it to give just about anything you want. I saw a video of a highly modified (ok, it basically didnt even resemble a VQ35DE anymore) engine that was putting down 1,800 HP. Its all about how much work you want to put in and how much money you want to spend. But no the dealer would not be the place to go.

upgrade to an M45, the extra torq is worth it.

An Uprev tune will get you an additional ~10 whp, but honestly you're never going to break 300 with a DE unless you're willing to do dump tons of money into it. Bigger benefit from the tune is fixing the drive by wire throttle control so that it actually opens all the way, makes a big difference in responsiveness.
