been having a chat with the sx owners club in the uk, the easiest way to do it here, is essentially use pulsar parts, there easier to get a hold of here, the turbo with header and front pipe will fit perfectly, an sr20det ecu should fit directly, need to run water/oil lines for the turbo, fitting an intercooler would be the same as any other intercooler, the only concern I had would be running the hose from the blow off valve to the inlet plenum, that helps with the whole vacuum thing I've been told. just wondering what your thoughts were,

any ideas what the difference in compression ratio/stroke/bore there is in the DE compared to the DET. thanks

There's a sticky with info on all the engines. I bet the UK DE has what we (US people) would consider JDM specs.

Anyway, I've written a write-up of how to do a DE+T and in the FWD SR section there's a description of what you'd need. In your case, since you have turbo models, you can just use their ECUs. I don't anticipate that the difference in compression would be enough to confuse a DET ECU to do anything stupid. I think your intake has the hose for a BOV. If not, it really shouldn't be a problem, just cap it off. As long as you have a recirc hose and a hose to the wastegate actuator, you're not going to have any problems. Also realize that your fuel injectors, pump, and pressure regulator will need replacement with higher flow stuff to handle the added power. Use GTi-R injectors with the GTi-R ECU, they'll have plenty of flow for stock and even a little above stock boost. In the adjustments to the fuel system, you may not have a choice but to run a piggyback a/f computer in order to adjust for the changes unless you use a GTi-R fuel pump and pressure regulator, which, I suppose, you could do.

Both of my articles are linked to in my signature.

Yes I would recommend recirculating the BOV so you don't have any hesitations, car stalling issues, etc.

are the standard internals of the DE goin to be able to handle the increaae in pressure and temperature of the boostage! dont want to be melting rings or bearings? but on standard boost it should be ok?

Stock boost you'll be fine. Make sure the on-boost A/F ratio is under 12:1, preferably in the low 11s. At idle it can be at a more efficient level.
