First, welcome to the boards. Second, I'm sure the overall engine swap would be easier than messing with removing and installing the head on the different block. Third, search for the process.

The motors are cheap enough. Buy a KA24DE and keep the KA24E as a spare.

full DE is cheaper and easier but a DE head on an E block will give you an 11:1 compression ratio giving you more power. there is a write up around here somewhere on how to do it.

with no other mods it should give you near 170 crank hp. with the right mods and tuning, you could crank it up to maybe 200 crank hp.

After the head swap it would be a KA-DE not a KA-E.

Not to mention that if you look hard enough and wait you can get a KA24DE for nothing... it may not be in the best shape but hey its free.

I talked to JWT on this same topic because I have an E, and the said that unless you are REALLY ATTACHED to the E block, just do an engine swap. It's possible to swap the heads (head bolts will match) but there are a couple parts that need to be machined to fit (It was awile ago when I asked...so I dont remember what parts he said exactly) So your best bet is what everyone has told you so far here, and thats just swap the whole engine.
