My bottom end is built with forged internals and now its time for the head. My goals are for about 25+psi and 500+whp. i will be running AEM EMS with Meth Injection and race gas. Now this thread here is about my head, im not sure which products out there can actually handle the power. The head will be CNC ported but then when it came to which parts to choose, i got stuck. I know people usually use supertech, ive also see brian crower and one more other brand.

What should i buy for

Valves:
Springs/Shims:
Cams:

Also, the valves, obviously with a port, you need more breathing so oversize is an obvious answer. how far oversize can we go until the head needs serious machine work.

Springs, i think the dual Ti springs would be nice for the heavy cams

and for cams, whats the best size for a turbo setup, I know big lifts are good but dont want it to be counterproductive.

Thanks in advance.

I think the best bet would be to talk to an engine builder/machine shop where you are planning to have this work done.

Supertech, BC, Ferrea... Any valves you get from any of those companies will work for you, but you need to have a professional really help out IMO. I think the most common sized oversized valves are +0.5MM but I don't know if that's the biggest you can go. I do know the stock head is good for ~400+ rwhp so with a little oversizing you'll be right near your goals especially with meth inj and race gas.

The most common cams for a KA24DET are either BC or Kelford and I've heard good things about both.

If you're having all this work done, I'd have a set of custom cams ground up for you based on the rpm range you want power.

Ok so the heads been dropped off for a port and polish and i left the valve selection up to the shop since they know what they are doing. Im going with ferrea dual springs and stock cams for now and once i get a better intake manifold, bump up the heaver cams along with more boost.

should get either a 3 angle or 5 angel valve job and a jwt cam with bc springs and retainers
and your already getting the port and polish job
so that would be a pretty much fully built head and a new cam gear for the timing

ok so ordered JWT S1 cams with ferrea dual springs and oem intake valves with new exhaust turbo valves. Shop told me its not neccessary to do oversize vales for intake and the exhaust possibly will give you more power but for what im doing, its fine.
