Hey guys,

I know it's been a while, but looks like as of this friday I'm getting my rear end back into an S13.

I've picking up a Series 2 ( SR20DE ) Qs silvia that's been converted to a 1via.

Anyway, I'm dumping the silly truck motor out, and going back to CA18DET again like last time. Loved the motor, and yeah, apart from the 4G63T in my RVR, I think they are right up there.

Enough of my babbling, basically, apart from the boost control solenoid, what's the difference between the DE and DET harnesses wiring wise ?

Thanks
Pete.

I actually had a rwd DE harness not to long ago. The only thing I could come up with is that the DE harness uses a 1 wire o2 sensor and doesn't have a knock sensor. Also, like you said all the turbo sensor crap.

Don't forget the fact that the DET harness has connections for the injector resistor and the DE does not, so you will have to wire-in an injector resistor.

That's excellent, I didn't know about that one.

Think I'll just pick up a DET harness, will make life a lot easier.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Pete.

Of course mate. Don't you know 2.0L motors make gobs of torque? They're perfect for mudding and towing your house outta the ground. Torque spins tires, which is why so many people turbo this gargantuan truck powerplant and drift with it. And the sound of that timing chain and those rockers is the perfect stereotypical truck motor sound.

Cheers

LOL, we haven't had a "CA guys making fun of SR motors thread" in forever! I'm entertained.

How's it been Float? Been a while since i've done anything really Nissan related, been too busy playing Evos and RVRs.

Been good! The CA is running strong after a recent rebuild (oil filter failed). I need to drive it more often though. Sold the old civic and got a new DD, an 03.5 Mazdaspeed Protege. I couldn't leave it alone though, so it started getting minor mods about a month after I bought it. Nothing crazy with that though, just bolt on and a piggyback. Should get me to 180-200whp and I'll be happy there.

So you not playing with the MrBitchy's anymore, or is the Nissan just a side project?

yeah the S13 is track only, unregoed and pretty stripped out. If i could find the parts for my RVR i'd keep tracking that, but they are pretty hard to come by. It runs an Evo 3 Lancer 4g63 + full AWD driveline.

What's an RVR? We didn't get them here.
Nevermind, I wiki'd it. We had them here, just different names over the years. It's called an Outlander right now

Mine is the older one, which was jap import only. Runs td04 turbo, Evo 3 motor and driveline from factory. Mines pretty unmodified, hard to find bits for them.
