It is entirely to hard to scrape the sticky stuff left behind after de-badging...any helpful hints to make this a simplier task?

There's a product called "Goo-Gone", works great. Think you can get it at WalMart.

Take your time, it needs to soften up, then you can start working it off with your fingers and paper towels.

Make sure to polish and wax the area afterwards, since you'll be stripping off any protection.

Welcome aboard!!!!

A heatgun can also work wonders. Be careful though, you can burn paint if you allow it to get too hot and actually even burn your hands. I used a heatgun and a very slick plastic scraper on my friend's Z when we removed some decals the previous owner had installed. Be careful on any broad panels with heat as well (i.e. fenders) as they become softer and can be dented easier. OE badge locations shouldn't be a problem though.

I've used goo-gone to remove the sticky residue left behind after removing a wood grain kit from my daughters g20 dash. Also, used a hair dryer...didn't have a heat gun. Hair dryer was a big help.

Thoght about de-badging but am a little concerned the paint will have faded such that the outline of the letters, etc will show.

I took my badges off a year after I got my car and you can not see any color fade. If you have kept your car clean and have had a protectant on it you should be fine.
