I'm pretty fed up with these wheel and suspension destroying, crooked as kelsey's nuts, teeth chattering excuses for "roads" in Jersey. I've been DD-ing my S14 for something like 4 years now, and a little over a year ago (I think) I got these D2 coilovers so I can make my car lower to hug some of the decent mountain road turns, but now I dont even enjoy driving my car anymore because these coils are so stiff. My girlfriend wont go anywhere near my car either.

I have my old struts sitting in my garage with lowering springs in them that I want to put back on my car BUT the front struts wont fit without my wheels rubbing it. The immediate solution I thought of was to put spacers on to push the wheels away from the struts, but i dont like that idea.

Aftermarket coilovers are so small compared to the oem struts, but they're clearly not made for DD-ing on these Jersey Roads. Maybe there are other coilover kits that ride like OEM? I ONLY want to be able to lower my car, and be able to fit my wheels. I'm curious what kind of suspension set-ups you daily driver people use. Lookin for opinions and ideas here. Would be highly appreciated. :dblthumb:

KW Suspension. Most definitely.
They're pricier than the normal run-of-the-mill coilovers and don't come with top hats, but they are very high quality coils.

I have never tried them, and they are so cheap that it doesn't even make sense, but a lot of VW guys use the Raceland coilovers and have no complaints. I can't personally say anything about them, but the selling point of those coils seems to be "lower your car for daily driving".

Papasmurf2k3 has them on his s13 hatchback IIRC, hopefully he'll chime in here.

KW looks SUPER legit, but pricey. Razi, have you any experience with the KW coils? Also, i looked at raceland coils and it dosent look like they make em for S14. How can they sell those coils for so cheap though?

I know, the price is ridiculous. I'm not one to recommend cheap coilovers, but there isn't much negative feedback from people that daily drive on them.

Another option is Koni Yellows. Koni yellows are very comfy. the downside is that you have to kind of build your setup. There are a few people around the net that sell a housing for the shocks (specific to the 240). You'd have to get the koni yellows, the housings, ground control coilover sleeves, and camberplates. But the end result is phenomenal. My friend has that setup on his S13. We were purposely aiming for potholes and bumps to see how it felt, it was pretty nice.

Ahhh you're right, i've actually seen that set-up before too. That might be the option i'm looking for. Hopefully i can find all of the parts I need. Thanks you both for your help :bigthumb:
