Is there such a thing as DB legal exhaust?

dB? You mean decibel? Yes, in CA it's 95dB and below are legal at 2-5k rpm with the gauge 1 foot away from the tip directly in front (dunno about other states, check your local pig station). Getting a Jasma certified exhaust will generally keep you legal for noise levels, getting one that's street legal with paperwork like a few of the Greddy exhausts will keep you legal here if you get busted for noise. But in CA there's also another whammy which makes exhausts illegal, any modification to the exhaust system is illegal if it changes the function of the pollution control systems which aftermarket exhaust systems can do, like keep the EGR from functioning properly and so on.

yea thats dumb that there is dB regulations. some cars are naturally loud or if over time holes beign to form.

I don't think it's that bad. Nothing more annoying then being woken up 20 times a night by some Jag-off with a Civic making 100DB from his coffee can.

It's Almost as annoying as the Bommer cars...

I plan on keeping my car as close to stock sound levels as I can while still enhancing the breathing. Just because if it isn't a V8 don't try to make it roar.

Wow thats a little one sided... I happen to think that the run of the mill V8s on the road sound mundane. OHC Mustangs sound hollow.

If you want a car that sounds good find a 512Tr, that car makes ANYTHING sound bad.
