Ok i've posted in all motor but it seems response is slow and unsatisfying there.....

I want a high performance exhaust thats not loud and doesn't attract the wrong attention if you know what i mean.... some questions:

1) which is preferred for my taste, bolt ons or custom piping and a welded muffler from a muffler shop?

2) Anyone done the custom piping route/recommend it? any shop names, references etc for this or should i just get a bolt on?

3) My cat looks rusty, is it worth it to get a high flo cat if i buy say a HKS sport or hiper bolt on? HOw much are they?

4) I have a sound system and prefer quiet exhaust, but if it sounds good i wont mind it that much.... Performance is my first priority, sound is second, so plz list what you recommend here....

Thx alot

Well I can tell you that I've got some custom 2.25 mandrel piping with a HF cat and a brullen universal. This was mainly due to having leftover stuff from my old car and knowing a very good exhaust guy who did everything for 100 bucks. The sound is reasonable except at WOT when it sounds like a banshee, but in a good way. If I were to add a resonator of some sort it would probably mellow out some but cost is my main priority so....I would say going with a proven catback is a good way to insure you don't gey some funky ressonance or bad sound, but if you get a muffler on the cheap then a decent system could be done for half the price. I posted this in the all motor cat removal thread too, sorry for repeating.

thx for the reply bud = )

As for yoU! hah jk... um thank you for following up my questions dont mean to be rude, however i have asked someone before whether "cat-back" includes the cat and they say it doens't..... therefore i would still have my rusty muffler... i assume most bolt ons i see pics of that are cat-back have a resonator attached which i confused myself with as a catylitic converter.... is this correct...

does a resonator decrease performance? looks like it would.... and is it required or do some ppl bypass them? i look unde rmy car and i've got like 3 things connected in the piping, i assume 1's a resonator (boxy one) and one's a cat, but theres another hump like pod in there, is that yet another resonator? i have 93 240sx se

So far i've herad things about apexi n1 dual exhaust (expensive) HKS hiper and HKS sport, anyone else wanna comment on these?

Lotta questions i know but what can i say im a dumb fruit

It'll bolt on as long as you have the right size flange, my problem was my HF cat was 3" since it was on a turbo...cheap move was to cut off the flanges and just weld that sucker on, I'm still not sure how he did it...Dave from Certified muffler in Margate, FL - he is the man!As far as buying one...I wouldn't think performance would be much better for brands like blitz than any other universal HF cat...size is most important.

i have a apex'i n1 single. I'm going turbo within a year at the latest two years. Its 3" piping from the catback. Its cool with the Ka , a bit loud , it still has a nice upper rpm pull. And yes there boltons. total cost with tax and s\h = 532.89 - from enjukuracing.com

Ive got a welded on glasspack and a gutted cat on my Sentra. For a 1.6 litre I would say its not too loud. But on the KA24 I'd think it would be loud.
