ok so today i was wrenchin away on my 240, single cam KA, i was fixing a vacuum leak, when i bumped my arm into the air sensor wire on the intake, my idle sunk really low to the point where my car almost died, im not too certain why my air censor would cause this, i did notice that in two spots on the wires for it that there were wire connectors(as if the wires had been cut). i played with it and of course after wiggling the wires in some spots my idle would be normal and in some spots it would get really low, in addition to that i found a wire with a connector on it near the fire wall that runs out of the harness right where the fuel rail is, whoever owned the car before me let it fall onto the valve cover or something and it melted off, my chilton manual is a little hard to understand as far as wiring, my wires on the rest of the car are pretty ratty and old anyway and im wondering if i should do a complete harness on the car and what that would entail me doing, would i have to retune the ecu or anything like that? obviously im not much of an electrical guy. thanks for the help

ok just a little bump, i looked at my wiring last night and the wires connecting the sensor to the harness are spliced in two spots, once by the sensor itself and then again right before it goes into the harness, im gonna re splice them today and see if that makes it better.

ok, i just respliced and connected those wires and now my motor is idling like crap and barely runs, now im not sure what to do, i refered to my chiltons and all it talks about with the sensor is idle adjustment, i think its the throttle sensor harness connector orthe throttle valve switch harness connector, im lost at this point now.
