ALright, I know ive been thread-whoring lately, and I kinda promise it will be my last for a while!! :D Yeah, right.....

Anyway, I want to hook up my fog lights as DRLs....

Ideally, Id like it so the fogs turn on when I turn the ignition to ON.... I dont know how I would go about doing that..... If it would be easier id hook it up so that the fog light switch is always hot.....

I know someone is gonna say just turn on the headlights, but thats not what I want to do.... The Q headlights are bright, and I dont want to run them all the time....

If anyone knows how to do this, let me know... I did a search and there really hasnt been a good thread about this, just hit and miss posts with come conflicting information......

My guess is you're trying for "safety" not just looks? I've been in the habit for over 15 years now. I get in start the car, buckle up, lock the door and turn on the headlights. Most of the time, in the winter the car will be already running, but the other steps have just become part of what I do everytime I get in a car. Have I left my lights on? Yes, a few times over the years, but I think most people do it at some time.

I guess in short (Wes), I'm the just turn your headlights on post you were expecting :D.

I personally just like DRLs better..... Not really for looks, but I know when im driving and its dusk and people dont have their lights on it gets annoying.....

I think I remember VimyJ mentioning something about a kit, but it has the headlights on instead of the fogs..... See, I really did do a search (brian :D )

Did you do a search of the FSM? If it's availble, it's detailed in there.

Personally, I prefer Rex's think for yourself - do it yourself solution. Rather like running with your park lights at early twilight when the headlights are not required.

Canadian-market cars had the DRL's, I believe. Change of a relay, IIRC.

You can run an ignition source to the switch, that way if you leave it in the on position they will come on when the car is started, or you can just control them and turn em on when the drls are turned on, also you can run an ignition switched wire to the relay.

The thing about the Canadian DRL package (mandatory since the early 90s) is that they use the high beams at a much reduced voltage. The advantage of the DRL set up it that the radio display etc., are not dimmed. I should really check the service manual for the part number.

I looked at the wiring diagram, and it looks VERY confusing and more complex.....

Would I be able to run an ignition switch to the fog lights.....? Ive been thinking about putting amber lights in there for the DRLs

The DLRs on my G20T actually come on with the parking lights, I actually took a small 194 socket drilled a hole in my headlight on the SE-R put a PIAA Hyper white bulb in it and sealed everything back up, came out great, the headlights on the Q however are a lil more expensive so if you try this sorta route be careful, does your 94 already have a dlr already inside the headlight?

I have wanted the same, or to have DTRL'S, through my searches, as stated before, they have this in Canda which I called a dealer. They said it can only be done for a car in Canda ( hard to believe) You may have to take your Q to Canda, they would not sell the parts, to me. OOOOOOOOOOOH! I thought you were selling? Guess not? good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if Stillen are the only people the have or carry the front brace? They are on sale now!!!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper

If you can locate the fog light relay you should be able to then find the wire that is bringing power to the relay when the fog light switch is in the on position, remove that wire and replace it with one that powers your parking lights, you could use a simple scoth-loc to get the connection, now when you turn on the park lights your fogs will come on also, however I would just run an ignition source to the switch, that way you still have control over shutting them off, I know that in CT if your driving lights dont shut off when you turn your hi-beams on you can get a ticket if the police officer so desires. You should be able to accomplish setting up your lights with out really spending but a couple of bucks if you just want the fogs to come on with the park lights.:)

Id ideally like them to come on when i switch the car on, and still have control via the switch.... I dont want the parking lights on at the same time since that dimms the lights inside......

You referring to the Front Strut Tower Brace? There's a thread about a cheapo ($10 or $15) Maxima one off ebay, that can be easliy modified and gives great seat-of-the-pants results.

The Jeff Williams FSTB mod scroll down to Jeff's post, it includes pics.

Also a search for FSTB in Infiniti General will give you tons of info about the Budget Front Strut Tower Brace.
