You can wire them as foglights quite easiliy. . but Nissan actually uses a control module (2 - 300 bucks, last time i checked) that resides near the fusebox in driver's kick-panel.
I was wondering tho. . to get it running ONLY when the engine is (not while cranking), as my stock S13 DTRL did. . maybe you can wire it to whatever power source powers the tach? notice, when you crank your car, the tach is not powered until the engine is 100% running. Having it shut off with the headlights, maybe. . hell I dunno. . use a relay?
edit: but by "foglights". . I don't mean functional foglights, just meant to suggest that you can wire them AS fogs. . in the same manner. . because they aren't fogs. . they doan work as fogs (I tried it just for the hell of it). .
Although, driving in a blinding snow storm once. . I ONLY used them instead of headlights, and I was able to see much much better
