I think there was an old thread on this but it was just an unfinished alpha edition. Looks like they finished it made it all pretty?

Yup.

In my opinion the game is great for .8% of the time and the other 99.2% of the time you are waiting for the other .8%.

It has tons of low points but those few high points are very high indeed. Also you need to have a group of trusted friends willing to play long game sessions.

I want to see what the stand alone game brings to the table.

It's pretty much imperative that you bring along friends. It's a cutthroat world out there and I've seen....things.

Speaking of Zombie games, WarZ is open for business now. Any trying it out? I'm hesitant to buy until I get some feedback from anyone on it. Its more MMO than DayZ, at least supposedly. I.o.no....

Dude I run Day-Z @ 25-30 frames on a $300 machine from 2009. The machine was a refurb from 2005.

For a good experience all you need is like a $500 machine.

Reading through an old thread, and just wanted to say, be glad you didn't pull the trigger. I'm sure you've seen it by now, but Valve pulled it because it was clearly unfinished, and had less than half of the features that were promised. Barren wasteland of suckassedness.
