Hey does anyone know about wiring day time running lights for the 08 altima coupes? I currently have them wired to the fog lights, I was wondering how hard would it be to wire them to the high beams (where most Canadian cars have them). I want to install HID fog lights but I do not want them to be on during the day.

could you be a little more clear? your post doesn't make sense... I don't understand why you would want daytime running lights wired to the high beams???? Are you going to get rid of your high beams, and just have daytiome running lights... if so, I'm pretty sure that's illegal! wouldn't it make more sense to get some and wire them to your parking lights? I'm sorry, I'm just a bit confused on exactly what you want to do here

Right now I have them wired to my fog lights. However I want to wire them to come out of the regular headlights. I thought there were only 3 lights in the headlights (high beams, low beams and signal lights). Where is the parking light in the front? Also I don't believe that is illegal since my civic that I used to have came with it's factory daytime running lights coming out of the high beams.

In Canada, the DRLs on new cars are wired to illuminate the high beams on half intensity. If you are from Saskatchewan, then your car should have been wired that way already and not to the fog lights, even if it was a dealer resale acquired elsewhere. How did it get wired to the fogs?

Ya that would make sense to have the high beams on half intensity.Sorry but I have no clue how to do that, I hardly knew how to wire my turn signals

Thanks guys, I was just wondering if there was anyone who knew anything about the wiring of the lights. I do live in Canada, however my car was from the US. Instead of spending all of the extra money I thought I would take a trip and pick up my car. Also the dealership for Nissan is not the greatest in Saskatchewan, at least the Delwari dealership anyways.

the fog wiring was done by someone out of Saskatoon, while that I could go to him and see if he is able to do it again I would have to pay and take a bit of a trip. Was wondering if there was anyone with experience in that area.

Ok, so it's a US car converted to DRLs? Sorry, no idea what the wiring differences are. I agree that it would be better to have the low beams on rather than the fogs. You may have to pay for that trip to Saskatoon and find out how they did the conversion. Perhaps it's worth a phone call first?

Yes it is a US car that is now Canadian. At the time it was a lot cheaper to go down to the states and buy one then to pay for one here. Ya I think I will have to take a trip down to Saskatoon for it then. Just thought I would check here first see if there were any electricians haha.

I live in the US (therefore I have a US Altima). I would like the DRL's like you lucky Canadians get OEM. Anyone know if dealers in the US will properly do the conversion for me? i.e. highbeams at 50% (I even heard 30% on some other forum).
