hey you Canadians J30 owners......recently my DRL has not been working properly.my left lights won't come on and will eventually kick in sometimes.today i noticed that the right side that is working is working in High Beam instead of just the regular DRL type semi-low beam.

i know DriverDriver once mentioned that here is a DRL module under the hood on the driver side......i tapped it a few times but it made no difference.i also noticed a DRL kinda relay or switch thingy in the fuse box and i don't know how to take it out cause it isn't like a regular fuse.

my headlights work great on both sides in low beam and high beam just that my DRL is not on the left and on the right its nomore DRL but in high beam as of today.

any ideas of what part i should replace?

Sounds like your having the same issues that I had a number of years ago. In mine the DRL module had to be replaced. In yours it might be the headligh relay/harness a not the DRL.

If you had posted a few days earlier (and if the problem had presented itself), I would've come out to help you diagnose the issue. I was in Halifax.

Are you still tight with the Nova Scotian Nissan Z club guys? The DRL setup on the '90-96 Canadian 300zx is similar to the J. It might be worth asking one of them.

I would start off by wiggling around the wires connected to the headlights first. I had a weird turn signal issues a few years ago. I isolated the problem by finding out that the wires had frayed inside the casing.

I will look for a headlight wiring diagram later tonight and post a picture, if I can find one. I'm not sure, but I think the FSM I have is the Canadian version and might have something on DRL. I'll check.

wiring seems ok since the headlights work fine.i've tried wiggling them but nothing.the damn DRL is pissing me off.if both light don't work then its ok. but it looks dumb when one does and the other doesn't.
