I got the rest of the intake manifold wiring and brackets all put back together, got the valve covers repainted and reinstalled, also fixed a blow by problem with the stupid hump on the exhaust side valve cover. So I decided to start in on mounting up the turbo and seeing how well these stainless lines fit.

Well... I had to go to a local Speed Shop and spend another 20 bucks on getting 2 fittings to get the lines to fit. One of the coolant lines that runs along the backside of the block feeds off a nipple on the intake manifold and there is nowhere for it to screw into. So I bought the proper fittings and now can use the stainless lines. I got the turbo mounted up with the straight oil line and it just bearly clears the exhaust manifold. I am going to have to make some sort of bracket to hold it down and keep it off the exhaust manifold. So I took the other end of the line and tried to screw it into the little oil block on the block. It would only catch about 3 threads and go no further. Well... I wonder if I can take that block off and thread it directly into the block? WRONG!!!! The damn thing snapped off and the threads are still in the block.

So I now have no oil supply to my turbo, and a hole in the side of the block. I have 2 possible ways of fixing this situation....

1. Finding out the exact size of the fitting on the stainless line, trying to extract the old fitting, drill out the hole, retap the hole and hopefully be able to run the fitting into the block.

2. Running a jumper line from the back of the block from the oil pressure switch to the turbo.

Hopefully option number one works out good tomorrow or I am FAWKED! Everything was running real smooth up until this point. Hopefully I can have this fixed tomorrow and put the motor back in the car on Friday or Saturday. I am STILL waiting for those damn gaskets from JSpec and an air filter adaptor to come in. I guess I am going to see how hard it is to install the o2 housing once the motor is back in the car since I am still waiting for that gasket.

Frustrated....

Joe

A little diagram to help visualize what I need for you guys.....

A is the gapping hole in the block that I now have from the broken oil fitting

B is the AN fitting I need to buy to fix this

1 is the thread pitch and size for the block that I don't know the size of.

2 is the thread pitch and size for the stainless feed line that Harp from Taka Motorsports is going to tell me to fit the line

C is obviously my Taka Stainless line.

So to fix this problem, I am going to need to buy that AN coupler. One side to thread into the block, and the other side to attach the stainless line to. I am desperate here, I want my drive my car again so freakin bad it isn't funny. I am this close to being done and back on the road until something like this happend. HELP!!!!

I know they went to Japan, that is why I sent the money the first week of May, almost 5 weeks ago.

Jon, yeah its not too bad of a problem, relatively easy fix. Just gimme a holler when you are coming on down.

If all else fails, try a helicoil.

nah helicoil will not need to be used , they make tools for this type of problem,

i found out the hard way, lets just say it cost me a rear quater window on a 240, i flew off the handle and started bashing **** with my socket wrench. then my granfather comes out, looks at my head and walked to his tool chest pulled out a drill bit looking thing and removed the sheard off coolant temp sender in less time then it took me to get the new one out of the box.

thank god it was my parts 240 that i got the motor out of.

will do joe, me and robin are goin out to breakfast around 930 10 and should be heading down after that, i may wait till around 1or2 though so i can goto the dealr ship and pick up my parts then head to the machine shop to drop it all off and get my motor finished!! yay
