Hi,

I am restoring an old Lada Niva that I bought in Nevada. Just pulled a Datsun A14 engine with transmission out of it.

Can anyone tell me if its worth anything or is it worth parting out or is it just pure junk. It looks seized, but I have not tried to turn it too hard.

Hey

As far as I know, here in Norway, these engines are valued in Datsun communities, mostly because all engines larger than the A12 were taxed out of proportion, so the average Datto was delivered with the little machine. Retrofitting A14/A15's is pretty popular.

The attached gearbox - is it 5-speed?

yes, it's a five speed. Any interest in USA? I don't have much room for it, so if nobody wants it, i'll have to trash it.
