Today I picked up a datsun 810 in trade for my 79 lac(family car). I plan on swapping in another engine because the l series is tired. Has anybody ever seen an rb swap done. My best guess is some of yall dont have a clue what an 810 is. Any thoughts? Pics soon.

Ls are the shizzy, if it's an L28 I would use that bullet.

810's are niicceee.

Im thinking about maybe picking up this one.-

It runs and has no major problems and all for 200 or maybe even 100 bucks. Current plates too. Good or bad deal?

Arent 810's a version of the S10? Could be way off in the engineering dept, but they look really similar to that design...

That's a 210 or a 310, 810s are maximas

I was just saying, my memory is foggy about the subject, but I'm halfway sure that they didnt get LD28's until they officially became Maxima's, but if I was wrong, then all he has is a nice parts motor.

Edit: Man, that was my 500th post. Jeez, over 2 years here, 500 posts, I am a spam master...

I realize that this thread is about three months old but I thought I'd set the record straight about 810's. They were built from 77-79 with a few stragglers sold as 80's until the square bodied car we know as the Maxima was ready. The Maxima which is really a 910 were badged as Datsun/Nissan/Maxima/810. The car in this thread, however, is different from that one. The car pictured earlier in this thread is a 1979 Datsun 810 2 dr. hardtop. How do I know? I've reasearched them for about the last 6 years and have owned and driven on for the last three. The two door hardtop was only built in 1979 with like I said a few stragglers sold as 80's. From what I've been able to determine, less than 3000 2dr hardtops were ever built. If you have a chance to get one you should because they are rare. Not overly collectible but rare. They use a L24E engine. The L28 engine requires some machine work to fit into an 810 because the 810 uses a forward sump oil pan due to the steering. You would have to drill and tap the hole in the bottom of the block of an L28 (or an early L24 or L26 for that matter) in order for it to match up with the 810 or Maxima oil pan. Here is a picture of my 79 810 daily driver:

theres a guy in town here with a 79 810 wagon, looks like **** outside, but the inside is mint. 500k+ and the only major thing to be done was a transmission swap. ive been trying to buy it off him for about 2 years now.
