If I was seeking to have a very high quality restoration performed on a Datsun 510, who (in the Western US) would you recommend I contact? I would appreciate some information on who the Datsun experts are so I can make the best choice possible.

Thanks!

There's a few folks I would reach out to, to start your search.

I'd talk with Troy Ermish (http://www.ermish-racing.com/), and I'd call Kevin Desirello (https://www.facebook.com/kevin.desirello) and Aaron Lowry (https://www.facebook.com/TheBwana).

Between those three guys, you'll get all the expertise and good advice you could ever want.

Where are you located?

Good luck, and welcome aboard!

I am in Southern California (Ventura County). I have seen pictures of some of Troy's race cars. Do you believe he has the capabilities and expertise to do a street car where the interior, dash, electrical etc. must also be restored too?

Thanks!

Yep, he's good. But also, touch base with the other two guys. Aaron has been the restoration expert at Classic Datsun in Vista for several years, and Kevin is a Roadster resto guy, but is well-versed in the 510 and kind of an insider in the SoCal Datsun scene.

Thanks. Do you have any contact info for Aaron other than Facebook?

How about an email address for Kevin? Aaron gave me one for Kevin but it bounced back as a bad address.

Thanks!

Not next door to Ventura, but check out "Affordable Classics" on Hawthorne Blvd just South of 190th Street in Torrance CA! They have a good reputation and make a good living restoring classic vehicles, and I have seen some Japanese clasics in front of their shop. There are many other specialty shops in the same location. I had a new down pipe fabricated for my RL411 in that complex. It's not a common or readily substituted item.
