Datsun 310 dogleg 5 speed swap problem

I have a 1981 Datsun 310 gx hatchback, not the coupe. I have put in a dogleg 5 speed trans instead of the 4 speed. The gear pattern should now be R-2-4 1-3-5

The problem is that the gear pattern now is 4-2-R 5-3-1

What the problem is?

Is there a different linkage needed for the 5 speed or do I have a linkage hooked up wrong? It has an A15 engine.
