I suggest we start a compilation of Q mechanics {EDIT---TECHs} listed by state/city.

I wish I had one in the western Phila suburbs. I read every post by Dennis and wish that T-3 was next door..

Suggestions?

Why would anyone need a mechanic when 99% of problems are technical [diagnostic problems] in nature.

A Q is not an 1890 steam engine.

"The work of automotive service technicians and mechanics has evolved from mechanical repair to a high technology job. As a result, these workers are now usually called “technicians” in automotive services and the term “mechanic” is falling into disuse. Today, integrated electronic systems and complex computers run vehicles and measure their performance while on the road. Technicians must have an increasingly broad base of knowledge about how vehicles’ complex components work and interact, as well as the ability to work with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer-based technical reference materials.

Automotive service technicians use their high-tech skills to inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, ethanol and other alternative fuels, such as electricity. The increasing sophistication of automotive technology now requires workers who can use computerized shop equipment and work with electronic components while maintaining their skills with traditional hand tools."

Using the term mechanic is a gross insult to anyone with the proper training to work on a Q. If they don't call you out for calling them by this foul GROSS term you are not dealing with someone who I would let touch my car.

I would rather be called an MF or SOB than a mechanic

I like to call my auto technicians "Auto Specialist".

Unfortunately I haven't found a good Q45 Auto Specialist in Mn area other than the ones who work at the dealers.

Only the dealers can send technicans to the Nissan Schools! A mandate they forced into their FRANCHISE CONTRACT with Nissan.

Remember it is illegal for Nissan to own dealerships in most [all] states!Dealers must approve a new dealership franchise based on service area and population.

No one wants more competition.

We were lucky when T3 started because we had some out of state secret friends at dealerships and they gave us copies of everything including school training manuals and help us buy specialty tools at good prices.

We still have a few alumni working for dealers.Actually buy so many parts that we get answers vs other shops.
